Overview: Oracle Social Cloud Accelerator for Oracle Service Cloud
Oracle Service Cloud Accelerators are intended to demonstrate how integrations can be implemented between Oracle Service Cloud and other applications. The Accelerator described in this document is an integration with Oracle Social Cloud.
Software requirements
You must have the following Oracle applications deployed before implementing the Oracle Social Cloud Accelerator.
Download the source code
You download the source code for configuring Oracle Service Cloud from GitHub.
Compile the add-ins
You use Microsoft Visual Studio to compile the add-ins and create an executable.
Import the add-ins
You import the add-ins into Oracle Service Cloud using the Add-In Manager.
Create the configuration setting
You create a custom configuration setting in Oracle Service Cloud for communicating with Oracle Social Cloud.
Import the custom objects
You must import custom objects into your Oracle Service Cloud site to use the Oracle Social Cloud Accelerator.
Deploy the custom objects
To use the Oracle Social Cloud Accelerator custom objects, you must deploy them to apply the changes to the database.
Create the custom fields
You must create custom fields in the Incident object for the Oracle Social Cloud Accelerator.
Import the reports
You must import the Oracle Social Cloud Accelerator reports into your Oracle Service Cloud site to display social media data.
Import the workspaces
You import workspaces into Oracle Service Cloud to display social media data.
Associate reports with the workspaces
You must associate imported reports with the imported workspaces to display social media data.
Add the incident statuses
You add new statuses for social media to the Incident Statuses customizable menu.
Edit the channel name
You edit the name of a channel for Oracle Social Cloud Engage.
Deploy the custom PHP scripts
The Oracle Social Cloud Accelerator includes several custom PHP scripts. These scripts must be placed in the correct folders, so that they can be accessed at run time.
Configure the Plugins page
You must provide login credentials for Oracle Service Cloud to Oracle Social Cloud.
Create an app
You must create an Oracle Social Cloud app to obtain the Client ID and Client Secret, which are necessary for Oracle Service Cloud to authenticate with Oracle Social Cloud.
Obtain the OAuth settings
You must file a service request with the Oracle Social Cloud Helpdesk through My Oracle Support to get the OAuth settings for the REST API for Oracle Social Cloud. Oracle Service Cloud Customer Care is not able to assist with this request.
Configure the OAuth settings
You must configure the OAuth authorization settings so that Oracle Service Cloud can authenticate and communicate with the REST API for Oracle Social Cloud.
