Register the device in Oracle Internet of Things Cloud Service

You must register the device in Oracle Internet of Things Cloud Service before sending any messages to it.

1. In Oracle Internet of Things Cloud Service, click Devices > Registration in the navigation pane.

2. On the Device Registration screen, click Register Single Device.

3. On the Single Device Registration Details page, complete the following fields:

   • Activation ID
   • Serial Number
   Use the serial number that you entered when creating the asset in Oracle Service Cloud.

4. Complete optional fields, such as Name and Manufacturer, if desired.

5. Click Register.

   The Single Device Registration Confirmation page appears, and should say Registration Successful.

6. Record the following values:

   • Activation Secret
   • Device ID

7. Click Finish.

8. Click Devices > Management in the navigation pane.

   Registered devices are listed.

9. Click the Edit icon to add information for the device.

   Confirm that the Activation Secret is correct.

10. Click Add Custom Metadata.

11. Enter the following:

    Field	Value
    Key	service_prodid
    Value	Product ID that you entered when creating the asset in Oracle Service Cloud

12. Click Add.
