Create the application

Data exchange between Oracle Internet of Things Cloud Service and any external service happens through applications. You define an application to specify the type of device to which you are listening, the messages and attributes in which are you are interested, and the external application to which they should be propagated.

1. In Oracle Internet of Things Cloud Service, click Applications > Browse Applications in the navigation pane.

2. Click Create Application.

3. Complete the following fields, then click Create.

   Field	Description
   Name	Required. Name the application, for example, Service Cloud App.
   Description	Optional. Describe the application.

   The application is created.

4. Under Browse Applications in the navigation pane, click the name of the new application, in this case Service Cloud App.

5. Click Device Model in the navigation pane.

6. On the Device Model page, click Choose Device Model.

   A list of available device models to associate with the application is displayed.

7. Select HVAC Device Model, click Add, and then click Done.

   Our example scenario uses an HVAC device.
