Install Oracle JDeveloper Studio

Oracle JDeveloper is used for creating Java-based applications.

Before you begin

You must install the full Studio Edition of Oracle JDeveloper.

About this task

If you are using the Windows platform for development, we recommend running the installer as an administrator. For demonstration purposes, the application uses plug-ins that are deactivated in the Mobile Accelerator as supplied. For your applications, you might need to download and install certain libraries and plug-ins, for example, barcode scanners.

Procedure

Download Oracle JDeveloper Studio from Oracle Technology Network.
Follow the instructions in Installing Oracle JDeveloper to install the software.

Note: You can run the installer from the downloaded executable. It is not necessary to run it from the command line.
Confirm that Java SE Development Kit 8 is installed by navigating to Help > About, and then selecting the Version tab.
You should see an entry for Java(TM) Platform, with a version number of 1.8.0_nn.
