Configure the phone number

You configure the phone number that will be used for incoming and outgoing calls and SMS (text) messages.

1. On the Twilio Console Dashboard, click the ellipsis (...) next to Dashboard to display the navigation pane, then click Phone Numbers.
   The Phone Numbers page displays.
2. Click the plus sign (+) to buy a phone number if you do not already have one configured.
3. On the Buy a Number page:
   1. Enter the desired area code, if any, in the Number field.
   2. Leave the All option selected in the Capabilities field.
   3. Click Search.
      The search results display.
   4. Click Buy next to the number you select.
      A window displays the phone number and its capabilities.
   5. Click Buy This Number to confirm.
   6. Click Setup number.
      The Configure tab for the phone number’s page under Manage Numbers displays.
4. Under Voice, complete the following fields:

   Field	Value
   Configure With	TwiML App
   TwiML App	Application name that you created in Configure the voice application

5. Under Messaging, complete the following fields:

   Field	Value
   Configure With	TwiML App
   TwiML App	Application name that you created in Configure the voice application

6. Click Save.
