I'm not sure what you are doing. In your previous postings you were running a
standalone client on machine B. Now you talk about "the GF on machine B", and
running "ping" on machine B. Please clarify.
But as a quick guess, you may be able to avoid these problems by setting the
hostname on your GF instance on machine A to be the actual machine name.
After all, anything else is ambiguous when used from another machine.
