After compiling the application and deploying it to a device, you must configure it to run a demonstration. The following sections explain how to do this.

- Compile the app
  The source code for the application is developed with demo use cases in mind; it is not intended to be a stand-alone application that can be published to the App Store. Rather, this app should be compiled with the intention of exploring capabilities and providing single-user demos. After you are familiar with the capabilities of the application and the AR technology, you can plan to design your own app with user authentication and integrations specific to your use case.
- Use the app
  After compiling the application and deploying it to a device, you must configure it to run a demonstration. The following sections explain how to do this.
  - Image placement
    The first step is to print out the placement image that is included as part of the accelerator content. The image file is a stand- alone file in the accelerator content and is also included as an asset in the XCode project. This image is what the app looks for in order to place the virtual pump on a space.
  - Object placement
    ARKit 2.0 supports object placement, and the application has been coded to allow for switching between image detection and object detection from within the application settings.
  - App configuration
    After image placement and object placement have been addressed for the AR experience, the app must be configured to use them. The following procedure walks you through app configuration on the iPad.
  - App UI
    The application UI is separated into the following sections to keep organization logical.
  - Actions
    The application HUD has two areas for interaction.
  - Bulletins and manuals
    Bulletins open knowledge answers in a pop-up web page. These answers are filtered based on the product part that is selected.
  - Procedures
    Procedures are configured interactions for the 3D model. In this demo, there are procedures that are configured through the ar-nodecontexts OCI Function. Procedures are defined by node, meaning that you can assign the procedure to appear when a certain node is tapped. However, the procedures can animate any node in the 3D model. See the ar-nodecontexts function and review the JSON files to familiarize yourself with procedures implementation.
  - Gestures
    Users can interact with the AR application using the following multi-touch gestures on an iPad.
