Hi Venu,

There are two flavor of application server available:
1. opensource version - GlassFish
2. Enterprise version - Sun Glassfish Enterprise server

Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server has load-balancer plugin bundled inside the distribution. It also has installer support to install load-balancer plugin on a web-server. However it comes at a cost.

For GlassFish, user has to download load-balancer plugin from external site. There is no installer support, hence user need to configure it manually. Documentation is available on how-to manually configure in all supported web-server.

Functionality wise there is no difference at all.

Now coming to load-balancer xml :
User can either export load-balancer xml on DAS and copy it manually to web-server for it to work.
OR
User can configure http load-balancer in DAS correctly and import DAS certificate in web-server. After this configuration DAS will automatically push load-balancer xml to web-server on the wire. No further manual intervention needed.

Hope this helps,
Kshitiz
