Creating an Application Module Definition

Oracle ADF application modules are business components that that represent particular application tasks. The application module provides a data model for the task by aggregating the view object and view link instances required for the task. It also provides services that help the client accomplish the task. For more information, see About Oracle ADF Application Modules.

You can create an application module definition in any of the following ways:

Create an application module definition while creating a package of data model components.
In the System or Application Navigator, right-click a Oracle ADF Business Components package and choose New Application Module.
This will open the Application Module Wizard. If you need assistance with the wizard, click H elp.
On a Business Components diagram, click the Application Module icon on the Business Components Component Palette for the diagram then click the diagram where you want to create the application module. For more information, see Creating a Diagram of Business Components.
Note: When you create an application module on a diagram you can change the default name when it is hightlighted on the modeled application module. The other properties for the modeled application module are defaulted, but these default values can be changed. For more information, see Changing the Properties of a Diagram Element.
