About Modeling Business Components

Modeling business components, such as entity objects, view objects and application modules visually captures the basic data requirements of the system. Whenever a business component is modeled, the underlying implementation files (Java and XML metadata definitions) are also created.

Using a diagram of business components you can:

encapsulate a set of data items (attributes) and the methods that define the behavior of the class
visualize entity objects, view objects, application modules, domains and the associations that define the inter-relationships between them
visualize entity object usages on view objects
visualize view object instances, and application module instances on application modules
