Personally, I'd love to see us first define a low-level client API along
with the minor (and major) things that can be revved very quickly, then...

I'd like to see a draft release of the specification, and get it to the
review process and maybe an early fast release.

Then focus on the other issues for a 2.1 release that would be included
within EE 7.

IMO, the client framework is such a critical high priority item that the
community needs now, rather than later. I can see many of the issues
listed as being very time consuming.
