Now what's really weird is that when our application.xml file has the order of its modules changed, the problem goes away.

This is even though we aren't using the initialize-in-order element.

Is there some kind of initialization order we SHOULD be specifying?

Oddly enough, the application.xml ordering that works places the EJB module at the end of the list, after the JAX-RS classes and web module (housing the JAX-RS Application class).

Best,
Laird
