I have now made the same measurement (with SecurityManager OFF), but with the request being a GET via the main servlet, which then forwards to foo.jsp. Here are the numbers:

G time foo.tag | 0
C time foo.tag | 953
G time foo.jsp | 1062
C time foo.jsp | 891

In other words, same as the simpler test.
