I usually do this by simply copying the domain directory to the freshly installed revision.
So, if you have a single node installation with domain1 being your domain directory, do a new install on the second machine, move its domains/domain1 directory out o the way (e.g. to domains/domain1.bak) and copy the old installation's domains/domain1 directory into the new installation. That's definitely not the official way but does the trick for me...
