Teknomad, thank you for raising this NPE. The following EclipseLink bug 303063 tracks progress on this issue forwarded to us by Mitesh, the fix and the SVN rev# and release/patch details will be posted there. If you have a chance can you post the @OneToOne or @Basic mapping that corresponds to the SingularAttribute that is causing the NPE as well as the containing @Entity or @MappedSuperclass to speed up reproducing this.

This issue is one with metamodel preprocessing during entityManager creation during predeploy and is not specific to an EE container (it can occur in an SE case as well - with the same object model)
