Exactly that is the case... everything is working fine if both applications are deployed to the same app server...
on the other hand... if I change the IP address or port ( IP address because it is a virtual machine that I just set up on a virtual box) the servlet will give me a timeout exception after a while because it is not finding the server...
well I try to edit the configuration of the VM to give it a hostname so that i can point to it in the properties hashtable via a hostname... I will give feedback if i was successful...
