thanks for your reply.

You can set the context root inside the admin area to "/" for all webapps. But this wont work, if you deploy apps using e. g. netbeans. than the deployment fails with the complain, that this context root is already taken by another application.

I prefer having a clean setup and any application has a different docroot.

Yes, we are Sun Principal Partner and we have inquired for help with the issue what we meanwhile could solve on our own and with the help from this forum here.

I will issue the paper how to setup virtual hosts with apache and GF very soon.
