Actually I was a little surprised to hear that this is supported in ejb-jar.xml. I am not aware of that we have this support.
There is currently no plan to support this kind of token replacement in deployment descriptor. However, there is a planned feature that could possibly achieve similar thing.

This will allow you to configure deployment descriptor entries post-deployment. We will start with supporting a subset of the deployment descriptor entries, you can update that issue with the entries that are of interest to you.
