Yes - you're right - that wasn't documented anywhere. The only document that gave us the idea to try this was this blog entry :

May i suggest some other ideas ?
The VERY NICE templating solution may be extended to all XML descriptor files (so do JBOSS ... )and also in java code anotations - this is not a heavy cost as this is is just a pre-processing before the effective deployement. This would be a great and generic enhancement - giving in complex deployement environment (cluster target) a great flexibility.
As regards V2, we will solve our current problem of RAR deployement at the build level (RAR name designated by the build) - this is not great but no magic templating way of doing it !
