thank you for the reply. We have used the templates to configure our connection pools successfully when the Resource type is of javax.sql.DataSource. But when the resource type is of javax.sql.XADataSource and we ping the connection pool we get the exception as seen above. This has been reproduced on Windows XP, several different Ubuntu installations (8.10 and 8.04).
