I don't know either about plans for an UR3 (haven't heard of one).
A GlassFish Subscription [1] is your best chance to get the fix in the
form of a patch for an existing install (vs. installing new bits which
could be troublesome for production systems). This is one of the core
values of the subscription: get the fully rested patches, and not just
the raw fix from the public branch. If you haven't done so already,
check this blog for what's available as part of the support offering :

V2.1 is scheduled for December.
