Yes, that certainly helps. It's a much better idea to do it that way but I was concerned that you are only permitted 2 concurrent open connections from the browser and I was thinking I may need the other connection for something else later.
Anyway, it's now working very well with a combination of Comet and standard POST. Thanks again.
