-EclipseLink is the full version of Toplink that has been open sourced.
-Starting with b32 of V2.1, EclipseLink can be plugged into GlassFish by
just dropping in EclipseLink jar into the lib dir of your GlassFish
installation. You will then need to update your persistence.xml to point
to EclipseLink as the provider.
-EclipseLink is schduled to release 1.0 in July 2008. The code base is
fairly stable and fully JPA 1.0 compliant.
-Toplink Essentials will continue to be the default provider for V2.x
releases of GlassFish. However, development on Toplink Essentials will
be limited to critical bug fixes only. All new development will happen
on EclipseLink.
