Just wrote [1] about installing OpenDS, overally I am impressed how easy
this procedure is (suffering from OpenLDAP for quite a few weeks, this was
really a breeze...). However for purposes like yours (education, training)
as well as "overall evangelism work", I still am dreaming of having an
all-inclusive bootable live cd, booting into, say, an Ubuntu (or maybe
OpenSolaris?) installation, providing pre-installed JDK, NetBeans,
glassfish, OpenDS, mySQL, OpenESB, ... along with tutorials and help sets,
ready for everyone to simply be booted and have a reproducable environment
for getting ones feet wet without downloading, installing (and eventually
configuring) too many different pieces of software. Maybe I should dive into
remastering Knoppix once again... :)
Cheers,
Kristian
