It was tested and was working properly for 3.0. Then you had one
instance named "server" and wildcard meant that server only.

Recently replication support was added to this command so that it can
get the data from remote instances directly. Wildcard processing has
some issues while trying to derive/deduce instance info from wild cards
such as this scenario where the user just gives a "*" only.

Please don't forget to file a bug (P2). We will follow up.
