Worst thing you can do with NetBeans is set your "userdir" to a remote
file system. It'll kill it's performance.

After you install it, go to the <install dir>/etc/netbeans.conf and make
sure the "userdir" is not pointing to a remote file system. Also make
sure the JDK is not from a remote file system. You can also tweak the
JVM command line in netbeans.conf too.
