attached mail follows:

Hi,

As many of you know, NetBeans allows users to create all kinds of Java
EE 5 modules and code that can target a Java EE 5 app server.

At this point, the server integration for v3 only allows the user to
create web app projects that target v3....

Obviously, this will need to change.... the question is when.

From the IDE user perspective it is almost always BAD to allow them to
create a project that targets a server which has absolutely no hope of
being able to run that project....

So, we need to get an estimate of when the various module types will be
considered "supported" by the server....

Specifically:

When will v3 have a 'complete' ejb 3 container and support the
deployment of ejb modules?

When will v3 have a support for stand-alone app clients?

When will v3 have support for ears that contain web, ejb and app client
modules?

Will there be changes in the file layout that is used to support
directory deployment -- especially with ear projects?

What about things like web services?

Thanks,
vbk
