Welcome to JSR 341 for EL 3.0! This jsr is now officially launched!

This mail is meant for the spec EGs, though it is also forwarded to the
users alias, as we like to keep all communications open.

This EG is a small group, and I'd like to keep it informal. First we
need to get to know each other better. Please reply to this email to
tell us your java.net name, your place of residence, and a brief bio
relevant to this JSR.

We'll be using http://java.net/projects/el-spec for this JSR. The
project's email, jira, and wikis will be our main tools for
communications. The wiki http://java.net/projects/el-spec/pages/Home
contains these resources. We'll also be using the svn repository in the
project for the reference implementation. It currently contains a
snap-shot of the RI for EL2.2 from the glassfish project. The EGs are
not required (but welcome) to contribute to the reference
implementation. As we make progress, it would be convenient to build
the RI and try out ideas.

The proposal at jcp http://jcp.org/en/jsr/summary?id=341 contain the
main features that we'll be working on. If there are other stuffs that
you like to include in this JSR, please also let us know. I should
probably put out a prioritized list in the wiki or jira.

Here's something about myself.

My java.net name is kchung, and I live and work in the Silicon Valley.
I used to work for Sun Microsystems and now for Oracle Corporation. I
was (and still am, I think, though inactive) a Tomcat committer, mostly
on JSP container. Now I work (part time) in the web container
(including JSP and EL) of the Glassfish project. I was an EG for JSP
2.0 and a spec lead of JSP and EL 2.1 and 2.2.

Looking forwards to working with you!
