Oracle Application Server 10g Standard Edition One is designed for small-to-midsize companies and departments in large organizations, where dedicated
technical resources are scarce or unavailable. For this reason, a
major goal of this release is simplified management, including a
one screen, single-click install, and dramatically simplified configuration
and management console.
To enable an administrator to effectively manage the Application
Server, Oracle provides a single console for administration: Oracle
Enterprise Manager 10g Application Server Control.
The Application Server Control is the single interface for administering
the entire Oracle Application Server platform. After logging in
to a standard URL, administrators are presented with the Application
Server Home page. From this home page, administrators can, at a glance,
determine the overall status and resource usage for each configured and enabled component. In addtion,
administrators can drill down to perform routine administrative
tasks such as:
- Start and stop services.
- Modify server configurations.
- Deploy and monitor J2EE applications.
- Review diagnostic log files.
- Perform backup and recovery actions.
