You can also directly utilize the application level APIs for the cluster
view and organization for designating dispatchers/schedulers and compute
nodes, then the cluster messaging APIs for job dispatching. If these
API's aren't sufficient enough, dropping one level down to the JXTA
communication provider should provide all the pluming for inner cluster
communication.
A shoal based compute grid is an itch I have been wanting to scratch for
a while, I would be willing to throw in some cycles in defining
application level API's along with the implementation, if others are
also willing to participate in the effort.
