Whilst I think this is an important thing to have (as you know, we've had it in Arjuna since 1986), I'm not convinced that there is sufficient agreement on the *how* to get it done in a timeframe that makes sense for EE7. However, can you remind me of the deadlines that are in place for JTA 1.2? (I know the EE7 ones.)
