don't get me wrong, I also respect your opinion, we just have different
interpretations of what the target of JAX-RS is -- minde is one very sharp
built around the word REST, not about the problems REST solves (just like an
Open GL API for Java would be around exactly Open GL and not arounde any 3D
API). As I said, I understand your problems and I respect your ideas to
solve them, it's just the word REST that makes the difference. So the
discussion actually, you are right, makes no further sense, as your examples
are not 100% RESTful, by Jan and me want to provide a 100% RESTful solution
-- which will *never* fit.
Sorry for the technical discussion, but it was necessary to come to the
point (to make people understand what my problem with the proposed API
extension is).

Markus

Here we are at the core point! Do you like to discuss REST or do you like to

This statement tells me that we are really barking at different trees. So,
I don't think it's worth pursuing this discussion any further. Besides, I
think you have made your point about the uselessness of a new API very
clearly (which makes me think that further discussions will be useless too).
I respect your opinion on that matter, by the way, and I think others will
share it too (what I don't share is the inference process and associated
technical discussion that you elaborated).
