If you have JDK 1.4.2 accessible to JWSDP 1.5 installer then you can
choose JDK 5.0 as the JDK that you would like to be used.
 You need to use "Brwse" feature of installer to point to JDK 5.0.
 This way you don't need to manually edit setenv.bat after the installation.

 Please let me know if this this is don't for you.
