There is no proposal for pruning or removing JMS from Java EE.
Oracle is withdrawing JSR 368, which was working to add some new features to JMS, particularly MDBs.
This means that Java EE 8 (full profile) will include the current released version of JMS, version 2.0, which had a
maintenance release last year. I remain the maintenance lead for that version.
