I've begun work on porting comet to 2.0, actually. Now that websockets
support is reaching relative stability and maturity, I'll be focusing
more on bringing both comet and websockets to 2.0 as well.

I can pick up 1.19 if needed but the pilot project is to evaluate Grizzly for its modularity and extensibility. To my knowledge, 2.0 is a complete re-write of 1.x for a "better" API. I don't want to evaluate a 1.x API that is deemed outdated. But since I am new to Grizzly, what do I know? Are the 1.x users happy with the current API? The first blog entry I saw on Grizzly 2.0 was posted on September 2008. But I haven't seen anyone on this mailing list crying for the better 2.0 API in the last 18 months. ;-) Could it be 1.x API already good enough for the users here?
