I am totally new to the GlassFish project, but reading it makes me believe
this is a solution I want to head towards for a project that will be coming
up. The projects ilfe will change over time, but here is the ideal
functionality of the technology I am looking for. Ideally, this application
will be a nice clean folder that can be dropped onto any machine and
function. The application will hold a fair amount of data, perform
calcuations to draw graphs, display maps, and information about points on a
map. The goal in development is that one day this may turn into a hosted
solution for groups of users, right now, this needs to be an easy package
that is just dropped on a desktop. Reviewing, and I don't know well enough to
know if this works, I will keep reading, but I am hoping for a quick answer
or suggestion. Here's the thoughts, using GlassFish, Derby, building Web
pages, etc.
Thoughts? Is GlassFish the way to go?
