I also tried the same combos of glassfish 3.1.2 b15 with jdk 7u4 (early
access) and it fails to bring me into the admin app (it asks me to
authenticate instead).

this has also been tried on ubuntu 11.10 x64 server edition under VirtualBox,
with identical results.  any jdk beyond 7 update 1, and glassfish 3.1.2 b15
fails to bring up the admin app when accessed from localhost.
