As you might expect, part of the planning for future releases involves what
functionality should appear when. (As an example, GlassFish 3.0 did not
support clustering; 3.1 did.)
For non-HTTP access (such as IIOP which the ORB uses between app clients and
the server) things get "interesting" in a PaaS environment. Clearly a
fully-compliant Java EE implementation will need to support this.
