Yes, if you install Hibernate as a OSGi module.
But if Hibernate is just dumped in the domains lib dir, in theory it should
have the same results ?

I think Laird's original question said the Hibernate in the update center
was really out of date. i.e. Not even JPA2. So he is looking for a way to
install.

Perhaps there is a way to drop in his own Hibernate OSGi module ?
