We have agreed that for deployment of "ear", java web start will not be turned on by default. User has to click the checkbox.
If you are deploying a jar as "Application Client", the javaweb start enabled check box is selected by default.
I just fix a bug yesterday that when you do 'redeploy' in the GUI, this property, javaWebStart is not persisted. Starting from 10/21 nightly build, it will.
