I have finally been able to install GF 3.1 properly after many failed attempts and can now open Admin Console properly. It kept on failing with the following error:

Domain domain1 already exists in C:\Sun\glassfish3\glassfish\domains. Use a different domain name or the --domaindir option.

The main GlassFish configuration file is missing. This is where it is supposed to be: C:\Sun\glassfish3\glassfish\domains\domain1\config\domain.xml

The setup may have failed as a result of space between folder name. e.g. C:\Document Settings\jack\...
