@DataSourceDefinition support is available since v3.0
This is not related to application-scoped-resources.
However, there is a proposal to register them in domain.xml (as part of <resources> within <application> element) to provide re-configuration and monitoring capabilities. This might not happen in 3.1 timeframe.
