If you want to test and learn about portlets, OpenPortal Portlet Container provides a JSR 286 compliant portlet container along with a test portal called portlet driver. You can check OpenPortal Portlet Container project ( https://portlet-container.dev.java.net/). It works with GlassFish v3. You can use Netbeans Portal Pack ( http://portalpack.netbeans.org) for creating and testing portlets in Netbeans IDE (it uses OpenPortal Portlet Container & GlassFish)
