asadmin get-client-stubs retrieves the earlier-generated files.
If you did not specify --generatermistubs on the deployment then the generated JAR will not contain them and get-client-stubs will not create them.
The returned JAR file, as you described it, is as expected for GlassFish 2. If you add that JAR to your classpath does your application find the generated artifacts?
