Finally I got something working.
As a last ditch effort I tried downloading a different base file
I went here:
https://glassfish.dev.java.net/downloads/v3-final.html
And took [b]glassfish-v3-unix.sh[/b]
Suddenly everything worked fine.
I thought I'd take the java_ee_sdk-6-unix.sh file off the Sun website, thinking it was a good ide to take the most complete package, then I could Develop Grails or EE6 stuff. Big mistake!
