But how would you name bugfixes?
Today you have e.g. 2.0, 2.1, 2.1.1, 2.2... 3.0
And you can release 2.2.47 after 3.0.27.

With timestamps 2.2.47 would be 20090804, but 3.0.27 would be 20090721.

That does not help either.

What has confused me, are these "pe", "fcs" and "9.1ur" and "2.1"... It's hard for me to see the "order" of these releases and to know the meaning of them.

We have "Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server v2.1 (9.1.1) (build b60e-fcs)" and "Sun Java System Application Server 9.1_02 (build b04-fcs)".

If you only look on this, is 9.1.1 "better"/newer than 9.1_02? (Now I know it: yes!)
And what is the meaning of build "b60e-fcs" and "b04-fcs" (Now I know "fcs" means "final release", but has the "e" any meaning?)
And is "9.1_02" the same as "9.1peur2"? (Now I know it: Yes! But I wonder what "pe" means. I think "ur" means "update release".)

I think all the release version names are a little bit confusing.
