hello anissa,

thx for the reply and a quick update on the testing of glassfish on win 2k.

i am using "Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server v3 Preview". the installer file is "glassfish-v3-preview-windows.exe", probably i have wrongly named the directory containing the setup file.

I'll download the build 59 tonight and test it in the morning at work.

I had done a clean install of Glassfish on win 2k advanced server and had received 404 page when i tried to access the admin console for the very first time. doing a refresh (by pressing F5) i was able to load the admin console and was able to make the connection pool and jndi resource to be used with the app. then i deployed the app's WAR file on the server and was able to connect to the db server, Oracle 8i in my case. Next day I stared the server and tried to access the app for testing if every thing is working under glassfish as it is under tomcat. when i tried to access the admin console i got 404 error and admin console did not loaded even on refreshing the page several times. nor did clearing the cache & cookies helped. then i uninstalled the server and reinstalled it, but the problem still remained.

i have installed glassfish on my development machine which is win xp sp2 and it runs smoothly (with faster response time than tomcat) which was the reason why i decided to move on to glassfish. i have even installed glassfish under Ubuntu 9.04 & win vista 64 bit on my Dell Laptop and it works fine.

I get the glassfish page every time at http://localhost:8080/ (when the server is running) but i am not able to get to the admin console. The deployed app running without errors, but i can't make changes to the server.

i had uploaded the server.log file earlier in a thread above, but will definitely upload it again along with the domain.xml file in the morning when i reach office.

can u also please let me know where do i place my jar files in glassfish server? i have jars in the /WEB-INF/lib folder of my app but i get errors unless i place them inside /glassfish/glassfish/domains/domain1/lib/ext

thx again for the reply and i hope to switch over to glassfish soon.
