sorry, I found it no more than a day ago:
"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class org.apache.commons.httpclient.HttpClient"
it seems, that with glassfish server, this class could not be loaded / found...when i set up a new, naked project with an apache tomcat server, everything works.
