which version are you trying to install in this case? If it is Prelude, then unfortunately you do need to install EJB container and JSF updates via pkg/updatetool, but if you can use v3 Preview release we *do* have full profile distribution available in Preview.... If you go to Preview download page:
https://glassfish.dev.java.net/downloads/v3-preview.html
and look at the distribution table, first column contains full profile distributions.... It could be as simple as taking the zip file and unzipping it :-)
