I'm suspicious of this as well...I'll look into configuring transaction duration...
I'm thinking about trying to use Derby to be certain that an abort is being initiated (I'm not familiar with how to determine what transactions are active in Derby, though...I'll try to find the right FM to R if it comes to that).
